Herdolor Lorenz

Herdolor Lorenz (born September 23, 1953 in Fulda ) is a German documentary filmmaker . His stage name is derived from a combination of his first name (Hermann) and last name (Lorenz).

Professional background

Lorenz studied politics, history, philosophy and German studies in Marburg and Berlin from 1972 to 1982 and completed his studies in 1982. For the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace , from 1979 to 1981 he looked after youth groups at the Auschwitz Memorial in Poland . Initial experiences with video and film as a medium in political education were during this time. From 1983 to 1989 he worked as a lecturer at the Hamburg Vocational Promotion Agency .

Career

Since 1985 he has worked on documentaries, since 1986 mostly with partner Leslie Franke . A time began when at least one film was made with her every year.
