Heretic is an American power and thrash metal band from Los Angeles , California that was formed in 1985, disbanded in 1988 and re-formed in 2011. Some members of the band were and are active in groups such as Hirax , Metal Church and Reverend .

history

The band was formed in 1985. Shortly thereafter, the band reached a contract with Metal Blade Records and was heard a year later on the sampler Metal Massacre VII . In the same year the EP Torture Knows No Boundary was released . Their first and only album followed in 1988 and was called Breaking Point . It was produced by Bill Metoyer and Kurdt Vanderhoof . In the same year the band broke up, but got back together in 2011.

The band plays a mix of power and thrash metal and is compared to the band Armored Saint .
