Heribert Jussen

Heribert Jussen (born October 19, 1925 in Aachen ; † April 15, 2011 ) was a German special education teacher and professor for education for the deaf and hard of hearing at the University of Cologne .

Jussen received his doctorate in 1957 at the Philosophical Faculty in Bonn with a dissertation The basic set of forms in teaching the deaf and mute for the development of the verbal thought circle . Together with Martin Kloster-Jensen and Karl Heinz Wisotzki , he published the third edition of the work Speech Formation for the Hearing Impaired: Abriss einer deutschen Sprachlautlehre . Jussen was one of the founding fathers of curative education in Cologne. Until his retirement in 1992 he was managing director of the seminar for hearing and speech impaired education for over 35 years.
