Hermann-Josef Kaltenborn

Hermann-Josef Kaltenborn (born January 1, 1921 in Essen , † March 29, 1999 in Stolberg (Rhld.) ) Was a German local politician ( SPD ) and mayor of the city of Stolberg.

Born in Essen, he had lived in Stolberg in what was then the Aachen district since 1946 , and in the Mausbach district since the mid- 1950s . During this time he began his commitment to the SPD. From November 1969 to December 1971 he was a member of the council of the then independent municipality of Gressenich , to which Mausbach belonged until 1972. After the local reorganization , he became a member of the Stolberg City Council due to the local elections on April 23, 1972. From October 1977 until his election as mayor, he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. On October 16, 1979, he was elected mayor of the city of Stolberg. He replaced Bernhard Kuckelkorn ( CDU ), who held this office from 1952 to 1979. During his term of office, the renovation of the old town of Stolberg fell , which, due to its financial outlay and its results, gained national importance.

In the local elections in 1989, Hermann-Josef Kaltenborn was overtaken by his challenger Wolfgang Hennig (CDU). He then took over the post of 1st Deputy Mayor, which he held until November 8, 1994.

Hermann-Josef Kaltenborn was employed in the public service as a judicial officer for 39 years. On December 31, 1985, he was retired with the rank of Superior Justice Council.

After his death he left behind his wife and three children.
