Hermann polka

The Hermann Polka Polka is a polka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 91). The work was performed for the first time on June 14, 1851 in the Zum Sperl dance hall .

Remarks

This work was named after the magician Karl Compars Herrmann (1816–1887), who made a guest appearance in Vienna in 1851 and gave several performances of his art. Together with Johann Strauss, he organized a charity ball in the dance hall Zum Sperlbauern . On this occasion the Viennese composer presented this polka.
