Hermann Bauer (rower)

Hermann Bauer (born May 23, 1966 in Linz ) is a former Austrian rower.

Sports career

In 1985, Bauer and Karl Sinzinger took third place in the unofficial U23 World Championships in a pair without a helmsman . The two started in 1985 at the World Championships in the adult class and finished eleventh. In 1986 they were able to win bronze again at the U23 World Championships, in the adult class they finished seventh in 1986 in Nottingham. In 1987 Bauer and Sinzinger won the U23 World Championships and were sixth at the 1987 World Championships. When they first took part in the Olympics in 1988 in Seoul, they were twelfth.

At the 1989 World Championships in Bled, they fought for 3rd place. After finishing tenth at the 1990 World Championships , Bauer and Sinzinger won bronze again at the 1991 World Rowing Championships in Vienna. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , Bauer and Sinzinger finished twelfth. At the Olympic Games in Atlanta he finished 11th in a two-man without a helmsman with Andreas Nader.

He is the athlete with the most Olympic appearances (1988, 1992, 1996) in RV Wiking Linz , which he also served as a trainer and official after finishing his own career.
