Hermann Brüggemann (painter)

Hermann Gotthard John Brueggemann (* 28. June 1822 in Stralsund , † 6. October 1894 in Friedenau ) was a German landscape painter of romanticism .

Life

He was born in Stralsund in 1822 as the son of the landscape painter and drawing teacher Johann Wilhelm Brüggemann and his wife Catharina Wilhelmine Scheele, a niece of the famous chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele . In 1845/46 he studied at the Academy in Copenhagen . He was married to Auguste, b. Wolf who survived him.
