In 1419 he and his uncle Johann Darsow were one of the co-founders of the Darsow altar in Lübeck's Marienkirche , from which a beautiful Madonna in the soft style made of Baumberger sandstone has been preserved from the central part of the triptych . It broke into thousands of individual pieces as a result of the air raid on Palm Sunday 1942 during the fire in St. Mary's Church, but restorers put it back together again. The original artist is not known and is therefore listed in art history under the emergency name Master of the Darsow Madonna .
