Hermann Eichmeyer

Hermann Eichmeyer (born November 22, 1864 in Quakenbrück ; † October 30, 1928 ) was a German industrialist .

Life

Eichmeyer was a mining enthusiast at the Dortmund Oberbergamt and studied mining at the University of Berlin and from 1884 at the Clausthal Mining Academy , where he became a member of the Corps Montania . After completing his studies, he became a mining assessor and, after a brief employment at the Oberbergamt in Dortmund, in 1898, he became a mining district officer of the Clausthal mining inspection. In the meantime, he was employed for a year as an expert on a mining expedition of the Hanseatic Land, Mining and Trading Company to Rehoboth in German South West Africa . After returning to Germany in 1900 he became director of the Clausthal mining inspection. In 1901 he left the civil service and moved to the headquarters for mining in Frankfurt am Main. In 1903 he became a board member and director of the Metallurgische Gesellschaft AG , whose entire mining interests he coordinated. From 1909 he was general director and sole director of Bensberg-Gladbacher Berg- & Hütten AG Berzelius . For health reasons, he retired from the business in 1920, but remained a technical advisor.
