Hermann Geyer (born August 26, 1934 in Ulm ; † May 30, 2016 ), also Hermann Johannes Geyer , was a German painter and glass painter .

biography

Hermann Geyer is the son of the painter and glass painter Wilhelm Geyer (1900–1968), with whom he also began his artistic training. After doing a lithography and glass painting internship in 1954, he began studying painting and graphics with Professor Richard Seewald at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . At the same time he worked on wall commissions and glass paintings for his father. Since 1959 he has had his own studio in Ulm.

Geyer's motifs range from floral still lifes to biblical themes. He has decorated churches in Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Ireland with window paintings. In addition, he mainly produced watercolors , but also linocuts , mixed media and oil paintings.

Hermann Geyer was chairman of the Association of Visual Artists in Baden-Württemberg for a long time.
