Hermann Hornbacher

Hermann Horn Bacher (* 1905 in Oberhaugstett , † 1984 ) was a German architect , among other things, the plan for the reconstruction of the village Deckenpfronn after the devastation of World War II designed.

Hornbacher initially completed an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker . At the age of 28, he made up his Abitur to study architecture and urban planning at the Technical University of Stuttgart from 1933 to 1937 . His teachers were Paul Schmitthenner , Paul Bonatz and Heinz Wetzel , who belonged to the Stuttgart school .

Hornbacher worked as a lecturer at his university during the Second World War . Later he was involved in the construction of submarine bunkers in France.

In 1945 he returned to Oberhaugstett as a freelance architect. Like many house designs, the site plan for ceiling planks comes from his office. He worked as a freelance architect until his death in 1984.
