Hermann I. von Gleiberg (* around 1015; † around 1062 or 1076) was one of the younger of the six well-known sons of Count Friedrich von Moselgau and his wife Irmtrud (or Irmintrud) von der Wetterau , daughter of Count Heribert von der Wetterau from Family of the Konradines and heiress of the county of Gleiberg . Hermann's dates of birth and death are uncertain; he was probably born around 1015, and he probably died around 1062, but possibly not until 1076.

Hermann fought over his maternal inheritance, Gleiberg, at times rebelled against King Henry IV , was imprisoned in 1057, then soon submitted, and was then a loyal follower of Henry IV.

Hermann is recorded as the owner and resident of Gleiberg Castle and was the progenitor of the Gleiberger count line. His wife is no longer known. His son Hermann II von Gleiberg inherited him.
