Hermann Mölbert

Hermann Mölbert (born May 12, 1916 in Traisa near Darmstadt ; † March 3, 1997 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German agricultural economist, agricultural labor scientist and construction technologist.

Initially, he was unable to realize Mölbert's study and career aspirations for "mechanical engineering and agriculture". After labor service and agricultural apprenticeship with assistant examination, he was called up for military service in 1937 and immediately for military service in 1939. He became platoon leader and company commander in the intelligence force on the western and later on the eastern front.

When he returned home from captivity, he began studying agriculture at the Hohenheim University of Applied Sciences and, together with Siegfried Lenz, Ernst Nell and Gerhardt Renker, was the initiator of the "Student Association Circle" founded on December 6, 1946 in Riedenberg, which later became the tradition of the Corps Germania Hohenheim took up and continued.

After completing his diploma in 1948, he joined the Board of Trustees for Technology and Construction in Agriculture (KTBL) and received his doctorate from Walther Fischer-Schlemm with an examination of the future machine requirements of agriculture in Germany. agr. Within the KTBL, he initially headed the areas of technology in the processing industry, mechanical engineering and public relations and rose to managing director after a few years.

He became the founder of the KTBL:

  • the working group to improve the agricultural structure
  • of the Working Group on Technology and Construction in Agriculture
  • the committee for technology in viticulture

The worksheets "Help yourself", the structural self-help for farmers and the series "Technology in Viticulture", are published by the KTBL and are still popular in agriculture today.

After his retirement in 1979, he was a sought-after consultant on agricultural mechanization and construction issues for many years.
