Hermann Meiners

Hermann Meiners (born June 13, 1935 in Emsdetten ) is a German physicist , dental materials scientist and professor emeritus.

Life

In 1955 Meiners began studying physics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , which he completed in 1964 with the diploma in physics. In 1969 he received his doctorate. From 1967 to 1970 he worked as an assistant at the Institute of Metallurgy at Münster University, which was followed by a research stay as a research associate at the Department of Physics, Pitt University, Pittsburgh, USA from 1970 to 1971. From 1971 he did research as an assistant in the field of dental materials science in the department for dental prosthetics at the University of Münster. In 1976 he qualified as a professor in the field of dental materials science, after which he received an APL professorship in 1979 and in 1982 an appointment to professor for dental materials science at the University of Münster. From 1982 to 2000 he was managing director of the Institute for Dental Materials Science at the University of Münster. In addition, Meiners was a longstanding board member of the Westphalian Society for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine.

Since 1955 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Sauerlandia Münster .
