Hermann Schlueter (politician)

Hermann Schlueter (born May 28, 1908 in Dortmund , † June 4, 1982 in Bremen) was a German politician ( CDU ) from Bremen . He was a member of the Bremen Parliament and President of the Chamber of Crafts in Bremen.

biography

Family, education and work

Schlüter learned the trade of a baker. He became a master baker in 1930 and had been working in the bakery he had taken over in Bremen since 1930. From 1941 to 1945 he served as a soldier in World War II . Then he was again an independent master baker and in 1949 master baker of the guild .

Schlüter was married to Elfriede Schlüter (1911–1990). He was buried in the Riensberg cemetery in Bremen.

politics

Schlueter was a member of the NSDAP from May 1932 to spring 1933 . Shortly after the change of power, he resigned from the party. After the war he became a member of the CDU in Bremen.

From 1952 to 1967 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship for the CDU for around 15 years and was active in various deputations and committees of the citizenship.

Chamber of Crafts

Schlüter became a board member in 1946, vice-president in 1949, and from 1952 to 1979 he was president ( president ) of the Bremen Chamber of Crafts for around 27 years as the successor to the late Georg Stichnaht. Adolf Kupke succeeded him in this position. During his time as President, the historic commercial building in Bremen was rebuilt, the Bremen Technical School was founded in 1966, the Commercial Development Agency (GFA) opened on Doventorsteinweg in 1965 and the professional development center of the Chamber of Crafts was built in the Bayernstraße industrial area in Bremen- Findorff . The craft meal has been held regularly since 1969 .

During this time he was also President of the Central Association of the German Bakery Trade .

Honors

  • In 1968 Schlüter was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
  • After 1979 he became honorary president of the Bremen Chamber of Crafts.
