Hermann Stahlberg
Hermann Stahlberg (born October 1, 1920 in Leichlingen , † February 2, 2005 in Fritzlar ) was a German CDU politician and the first active soldier in the Bundeswehr to be a member of the German Bundestag .
Life
Stahlberg participated in the Second World War and returned from Soviet captivity in 1949 . In 1956 he joined the newly founded Bundeswehr. Since 1957 Stahlberg has held various positions in the management of the German Armed Forces Association , the professional organization of soldiers.
On September 29, 1965 Stahlberg, at that time chief sergeant , was elected to the German Bundestag via the state list of the Hessian CDU . He was a member of Parliament until 1972 and then again from 1974 to 1980, where he was particularly active in the Defense Committee.
After retiring from federal politics, Hermann Stahlberg was a member of the Fritzlar magistrate from 1983 to 1989 and was once again First City Councilor from 1987 to 1989.
