Hermann Rudolf Tafel (born February 19, 1833 in Stuttgart ; † January 26, 1909 there ) was a German lawyer and politician as well as a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg estates .

Life

Tafel was born as the son of Gottlob Tafel and the nephew of Johann Friedrich Karl Leonhard Tafel , Johann Friedrich Immanuel Tafel and studied law in Tübingen and Heidelberg after attending the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium Stuttgart and graduating from the Karls-Gymnasium Stuttgart . During his studies in 1851, like his father and uncle, he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity . After graduating, he worked as a lawyer in Stuttgart. In 1869 he became legal counsel . As a member of the People's Party , he became chairman of the citizens' committee of the city of Stuttgart in 1878 and was a member of the city council of Stuttgart from 1879 to 1885. In 1883 he became director of the Württemberg credit association, which he headed until 1907. From 1884 to 1889 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates for the city of Stuttgart , where he became a member of the Legitimation Commission, the Sports and Municipal Tax Commission and the Enhanced Constitutional Commission.
