Hermann "Mandi" Urbas (born June 18, 1982 ) is a German - American football player .
The offensive player, usually called "Mandi" Urbas, went through the youth departments of FC Bayern Munich until 1991, TSV 1860 Munich from 1991 to 2000 and, most recently, SpVgg Unterhaching , where he also made the transition from youth to men. Urbas was a midfielder in the squad of the Unterhachingen second representation, which took part in the fourth-class Bayernliga as a promoted player in 2001/02 , and scored two goals in 25 missions in his first league season. In the following season 2002/03 Urbas was increasingly used as a striker and scored another ten goals for Unterhaching in 24 games. The jump into the first Hachingen team, which in the same season was promoted from the third-class regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga, did not succeed Urbas, so he left the game association in July 2003.
Urbas then completed a trial training session with the US Major League Soccer team Dallas Burn , which finally signed him in August 2003. Urbas then came to three appearances in the 2003 season , which had already started in the spring, but took the last place in their conference with the team and thus missed the play-offs.
For the 2004/05 season of the Bayernliga Urbas returned to the second substitute Unterhachings, for whom he scored 19 goals in 81 games in the following three seasons. The 2005/06 season was the most successful season for the German-American with 13 goals in 32 appearances and also brought him a promotion to the Unterhachings professional squad for the 2006/07 season . However, Urbas was only used for the second representation of the game association in the Bayern League, whereupon he left the club again in July 2007 and suspended his active career as a football player.
