Eric Agyemang (born January 11, 1980 in Obuasi ) is a German - Ghanaian soccer player .

Career

Agyemang came to Kickers Emden through the clubs Goldfields SC, FC St. Pauli , Eichholzer SV and Vorwärts / Wacker Billstedt . He had a significant share in the championship of the Kickers in the Oberliga Nord in the 2004/05 season with 18 goals . In the 2005/06 season he was not used for Emden in the Regionalliga Nord and switched to the Regionalliga Süd for SC Pfullendorf during the winter break . For Pfullendorf, the striker played 37 games in a year and a half and scored twelve goals. In the 5-2 home win against SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2006/07 season, he managed a hat-trick in the first half to lead them 3-0 after a break. After disagreements with Pfullendorf's coach Michael Feichtenbeiner , the Ghanaian broke his contract, which ran until 2008, in the summer of 2007.

Agyemang then moved back to the Regionalliga Nord for the 2007/08 season and joined 1. FC Magdeburg . The aim of the Magdeburg was to qualify for the newly introduced 3rd division . Agyemang played 18 times in the season, but did not score a goal and missed the desired qualification with Magdeburg. In October 2008 Agyemang moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue in the 3rd division. Aue was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the 2007/08 season, had only scored seven goals in the first eight games of the 3rd division and was on a relegation zone. Agyemang was supposed to increase effectiveness in the storm and was given a one-year contract. He scored his first professional goal on his second appearance for Aue. On April 10, 2010 he scored three goals in a 3-0 win against VfL Osnabrück .

For the 2010/11 season he joined Wacker Burghausen , where he scored 13 goals in 29 games. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season he moved to the second division relegated Arminia Bielefeld . With Arminia he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2013. He scored nine goals in 39 games for Bielefeld. However, his contract was not extended. He then joined the Hamburg upper division club TuS Dassendorf , for whom he scored 26 goals in 29 games in his first season. In his second year he increased to 29 goals in 31 appearances. After three years and three consecutive championships with TuS Dassendorf, Agyemang was signed by Wedeler TSV in 2016 .

Trivia

Partly to express their sympathy in a humorous way, partly because of the difficult correct pronunciation of his name, Agyemang was nicknamed "Erich Ackermann" by Emder fans based on the Low German language based in East Friesland .
