Jack Turner (born February 12, 1920 in Seattle , † September 12, 2004 in Renton ) was an American racing car driver .
Career
Jack Turner was the first American racing driver to win the AAA National Midget Championship twice in a row, in 1954 and 1955.
He competed 35 times in the AAA National series and the USAC series between 1955 and 1962. His best result was second in the 1956 Darlington race. He also competed six times in the Indianapolis 500 .
Since the 500 miles from Indianapolis were also part of the Formula 1 World Championship between 1950 and 1960 , Turner also took part in four races for the World Championship. He could not achieve points for the championship.
After a serious accident in training for the 500 miles in 1963, Turner retired from racing.
