Hermann Wächter (born January 17, 1937 in Augsburg ) is a German actor and author .

Life

After high school he completed a commercial apprenticeship, took acting lessons while working and passed the stage maturity test. From 1953 to 1987 he worked in the private sector in Augsburg, Munich and Stuttgart. He was a member of the examination board of chambers of industry and commerce for 22 years. From 1987 he worked in the head office of the Swabian district in the public relations and cultural department. Event organization, exhibition organization in Bavarian Swabia and foreign partner regions as well as the preliminary work of the District Assembly President (congratulations, condolences, speech sketches and other texts) were part of his area of ​​responsibility. From 1987 to 2007 he also advised amateur theaters in Bavarian Swabia. Wächter led advanced training seminars for amateur theater, in which acting on stage was the focus. He also devoted himself to the compilation of piece catalogs (“What should we play?”).

For more than 30 years he worked on the radio, as a speaker in radio plays (among other things he was the father of the Schwärmle family) and moderated around 200 of the program “ Heimatspiegel ” ( BR ). As a folk actor, he played mostly down-to-earth types in television roles, including pastors, whereby, in addition to professional acting training, he also benefited from being an altar boy for years as a boy . In 1963/64 he was a member of the ensemble at the Augsburg cabaret "Die Scheibenwischer". Theater guest performances took place at home theaters, at the Augsburg Theater and in the Parktheater in the Kurhaus Göggingen . He was also the speaker in the Augsburger Puppenkiste and for over 20 years a narrator at the Augsburg Advent Singing in the Congress Hall.

In 1979 he started writing and wrote 15 books. He wrote literature on customs in Bavarian Swabia, cheerful and contemplative stories and poems in High German and Swabian dialect. He prefers to write about his homeland, about the country and its people, the seasons in nature. Some textbook contributions in Swabian dialect and class visits (poetry in class). He learned the Middle Swabian dialect as a child in the 1940s, where he lived for over 4 years on a farm in Hochwang (near Günzburg) due to the war. He had around 400 readings and presentations in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Austria, Bucovina, as well as in Bonn, Berlin and Brussels. Wächter is married and lives in Augsburg.
