Hermann von Schmoller

Hermann Schmoller , from 1905 by Schmoller , (born October 4, 1840 in Stuttgart , † February 19, 1914 there ) was a German railway engineer and Württemberg construction clerk.

Life

Hermann von Schmoller studied construction at the Stuttgart Polytechnic . There he became a member of the Corps Stauffia . After completing his studies, he entered the service of the Royal Württemberg State Railways . In March 1888 he was awarded the title and rank of building councilor as chief inspector and head of the technical office of the general management. In December 1891 he was promoted to the completed position of a building councilor of the general management. In March 1899 he was awarded the title and rank of senior building officer. In November 1903 he was promoted to senior building officer. By the time he died in 1914 he had acquired the title and rank of building director.

Hermann von Schmoller played a major role in the expansion of the Württemberg railway network. One example is the construction of the Münsingen-Schelklingen railway line. As part of his civil service, he also taught the technical part of railway studies as a lecturer on the course for candidates for higher rail, post and telegraph service.

Awards

  • 1901, award of the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown
  • 1905, award of the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Württemberg Crown. With the award of this order the elevation to the personal nobility was connected.
  • 1908, award of the commentary cross, 2nd class of the Frederick Order
