Hermine Breier ( 1867 in Vienna - November 15, 1917 there ) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

Breier, the daughter of the well-known novelist Eduard Breier , entered the stage of the Wiener Stadttheater when she was barely 16, after she had already performed as "Louise" at the Royal Theater in Berlin as a 15-year-old girl and had enjoyed special recognition .

She made her debut as "Melitta" in Sappho , and in both this role and the following ("Orphan from Lowood") she received widespread approval. After two years of engagement, she came to the City Theater in Brno, from there to Düsseldorf and Budapest, from where she was invited to a guest performance at the Dresden Court Theater .

She appeared as the "Orphan from Lowood", "Queen" in Don Carlos and "Louise" in Cabal and Love , and was so popular that she was immediately offered a multi-year contract. As long as she had worked at this art institute, she proved to be an excellent, tragic lover. It often had gripping, dramatic moments, and the bell-like inwardness of its beautiful organ sometimes has a tremendous effect .

After leaving the Dresden Court Theater Association, she worked in Zurich in 1893, Basel in 1894, St. Gallen in 1895, Krefeld in 1896, and in Strasbourg from 1897 to 1899. The artist lived in Vienna at least until 1902.
