There are over 20,000 machines in use worldwide, mainly in suppliers for medical technology , in the optical industry, in aviation , in the automotive industry and in motorsport .
The most important components are developed and manufactured in Gosheim. The universal milling machines and machining centers from Hermle are used to machine tools, molds and series parts.
history
Berthold Hermle founded the Berthold Hermle company in Gosheim in 1938 - screw factory and mold turning shop . In 1957 the production of milling machines began. The company was renamed in 1990 to Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle AG and went public on April 10, 1990. Before that, the company was mainly known under the name BHG (for Berthold Hermle Gosheim).
Products
The company produces small to medium-sized three to five-axis milling machining centers for a wide range of applications. Machines for applications with increased demands on precision or cutting volume are also manufactured. The different machine models are available with magazine extensions and pallet changers. Furthermore, various handling systems are offered directly by the manufacturer. Hermle also offers a combination of a 5-axis machining center (type C-40) with a metal powder application unit (MPA technology) for additive manufacturing . Hermle MPA technology is a thermal spraying process based on cold gas spraying . Instead of fusing the metal powder particles with a laser, as is the case with laser deposition welding with metal powder - a comparable additive manufacturing process - with metal powder application , the particles are accelerated to very high speeds with the aid of a carrier gas and applied to the respective substrate through a nozzle. When the powder particles hit the substrate surface, the particles and the surface are severely plastically deformed: "This creates a binding contact area between the particle and the substrate or previously applied powder particles.
Stock market listing
The preference shares were placed on the stock exchange on April 10, 1990 at an issue price of DM 320 as part of a capital increase. Today they are traded on the regulated market of the Frankfurt and Stuttgart stock exchanges as well as on other stock exchanges. The common shares are not listed.
