Herne 3 is a German pop rock band from Herne . From 1982 to 1989 the band performed a total of 503 times, in 1983 at the WDR Rockpalast.

history

The band, whose members mainly came from the Krautrockecke , was founded in 1982. Herne 3 had its first success with the single Immer wieder aufstehn , which made it into the airplay lists of many radio stations. Concerts and TV appearances followed, and the number of records sold was 25,000. In 1984 Matthias Resch became the band's replacement drummer. Further line-up changes followed in 1986: Heinz Kunert now played bass. The guests were Helmut Frey on saxophone, Ludwig Götz on trombone, Helmut Jost on bass, Werner Peters on keyboard and Uwe Ziegler on guitar. Jutta Gröters, Barbara Kaosprzewa and Jockel Hamann contributed vocals.

Further concerts were given until 1989. After a creative break, the band made their first comeback in 1997 with the album Meilenweit . Koslowski and Tomas Tejero now played guitar, Willi Hevelmann was the keyboardist, Reinald Assheuer was responsible for the bass voice and Gerald Caspers for the drums. A second reactivation attempt took place in 2000, this time with all six founding members and a new one. During one of the rehearsals, Kapellen suffered a stroke on December 28th and died shortly afterwards from the consequences. Wolfgang Berke and Magdalinski left the band and were replaced by the former band members Assheuer and Kunert. On April 30, 2002 the band gave their anniversary concert “20 Years HERNE 3” in front of over 800 fans in the Herner Flottmann-Hallen . At the same time the best of album Gute Besserung was released.

Then the band split up, Rainer August Koslowski became a singer in the band Herner Kreuz . Since 2019 Herne 3 has been active again with a partially new line-up, Rainer August Koslowski takes over the vocals again, now together with the new singer Grazia Bradi.
