The Hero Inlet is a narrow bay on the southwest coast of Anvers Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is bounded by the Gamage Point and Bonaparte Point headlands .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the bay in 1970 after the research vessel RV Hero , which had supplied the Palmer station on Gamage Point since the late 1960s .
