Herrgottskirche is a residential area near the evangelical Herrgottskirche in the district of the core town of Creglingen in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The Herrgottskirche residential area and the church building of the same name are located about 800 meters south of Creglingen in Herrgottstal . The Herrgottsbach passes the Herrgottskirche residential area, immediately afterwards the Kohlesmühle residential area , before flowing into the Tauber after another kilometer in Creglingen from the left .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1403 as capella S. Salvatoris apud oppidum Cregelingen . The pilgrimage church south of the town of Creglingen was supposedly founded in 1384 by the brothers Konrad and Gottfried von Brauneck and consecrated in 1389. This was confirmed by the Pope in 1403.

On the table sheet No. 6526 "Creglingen" from 1934 the place was listed as Herrgottskirche with two buildings.
