The Herring Nunatakker are two distinctive nunatakkers in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land , which are located about 5 km northwest of Mount Lechner in the Forrestal Range of the Pensacola Mountains .
They were mapped by the United States Geological Survey and aerial photography from the United States Navy between 1956 and 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Earl F. Herring, who was a warehouse manager for flight equipment at Ellsworth Station in the winter of 1957.
