Pont-de-Salars is a French commune with 1,652 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . Administratively it belongs to the Arrondissement of Millau .
geography
Pont-de-Salars is about 13 kilometers southeast of Rodez on the Viaur , into which the Vioulou flows. The dammed lakes Lac de Bage and Lac de Pont-de-Salars are located in the municipality . Pont-de-Salars is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Vibal in the north, Ségur in the east and northeast, Prades-Salars in the east and southeast, Canet-de-Salars in the south and southeast, Trémouilles in the south and southwest and Flavin in the west.
The former route nationale 111 (today's D911) runs through the municipality .
