Belmont-sur-Rance ( Occitan : Bèlmont de Rance ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 976 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). Belmont-sur-Rance belongs to the arrondissement of Millau and the canton of Causses-Rougiers (until 2015: canton of Belmont-sur-Rance ). The inhabitants are called Belmontais .

Belmont-sur-Rance is located about 42 kilometers east-southeast of Albi in the southwest of the historic province of Rouergue am Rance . Belmont-sur-Rance is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rebourguil in the north, Montlaur in the northeast, Mounes-Prohencoux in the east and southeast, Murasson in the south, Saint-Sever-du-Moustier in the southwest and Combret in the west.
The Saint-Affrique-Belmont airfield is located in the municipality .
