Verrières ( Occitan : Verièiras ) is a French commune with 454 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron département and in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the canton of Tarn et Causses (until 2015: canton of Saint-Beauzély ) and the arrondissement of Millau . The inhabitants are called Verriérois .

location

Verrières is about eleven kilometers north-northwest of Millau . The municipality is part of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park . Verrières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sévérac-le-Château in the north, Rivière-sur-Tarn in the east, Compeyre in the south-east, Aguessac in the south, Millau in the south and south-west, Saint-Beauzély in the south-west, Saint-Léons in the west and Vézins- de-Lévézou in the north-west.
