Salmiech ( Occitan : Saumièg ) is a French commune with 773 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Millau and the canton of Monts du Réquistanais (until 2015: canton of Cassagnes-Bégonhès ). The inhabitants are called Salmiéchois .
geography
Salmiech is located about 37 kilometers northeast of Albi and about 19 kilometers south of Rodez am Céor . Neighboring municipalities are Comps-la-Grand-Ville in the north, Trémouilles in the northeast, Arvieu in the east, Auriac-Lagast in the south and Cassagnes-Bégonhès in the west.
