Aguessac ( Occitan : Agaçac ) is a French commune with 867 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Millau and the canton of Millau-2 (previously Millau-Est ) and is a member of the Communauté de communes de Millau Grands Causses .

geography

The municipality is located in the former province of Rouergue on the right bank of the Tarn river . Aguessac is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Verrières in the north, Compeyre in the northeast, La Cresse in the east, Paulhe in the southeast, Millau in the south, Saint-Beauzély in the west and Saint-Léons in the northwest. The municipality is part of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park .
