Miguel Colás (born October 4, 1994 ) is a Mexican ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Fundación Deportiva Talaveros Puebla in Mexico since 2013 .

Career

Miguel Colás began his career as a hockey player with the Aztec Eagle Warriors from the capital Mexico City , with whom he played in the 2010 newly founded Liga Mexicana Elite . In 2013 he moved to league competitor Borregos Hockey Tec Monterrey , although he was drafted in the same year by the Bracebridge Phantoms in the GMHL Draft in the 6th round as a total of 111th player. He has been playing for the Fundación Deportiva Talaveros Puebla since 2014 .

International

In the junior division, Colás played with the Mexican U-18 selection at the Division III World Championships in 2011 , when he scored the most defensive goals in the tournament, and in 2012 . With the U-20 of his country he took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2012 and Division III in 2011 , 2013 , when he reached the most scorer points of a defensive player, and in 2014 . At the U-18 World Cup in 2012 and the U-20 World Cup in 2014, he led his team onto the ice as team captain and was also honored as the best player on his team in both years.

With the men's national team , Colás took part in the Division II World Championships in 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 .

He was also on the ice in the Olympic qualification for the Games in Sochi in 2014 , in which the Mexican team was eliminated in the pre-qualification, and in the Pan-American ice hockey tournament in 2014 , in which he and his team took second place.
