Rivière-sur-Tarn ( Occitan Ribièira ) is a French commune with 1,043 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department and in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the canton of Tarn et Causses (until 2015 Peyreleau ) and the arrondissement of Millau . The inhabitants are called Riviérois .

Rivière-sur-Tarn is about eleven kilometers north-northeast of Millau am Tarn . The municipality is part of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park . Rivière-sur-Tarn is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sévérac-le-Château in the north, Mostuéjouls in the east, Le Rozier in the southeast, La Cresse in the south, Compeyre in the southwest and Verrières in the west.
