Sauclières is the easternmost commune in the Aveyron department. It is located in the southern Massif Central in the area of the plateau of the Causse du Larzac between Millau in the north-west and Montpellier in the south-east, on the bank of the Virusque river . The municipality is part of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park .
