The rule of Aach , located at the source of the Radolfzeller Aach , was first mentioned in 1158. The rule came from the Lords of Aach to the Hochstift Konstanz around 1200 . After 1273, the rulership went to the Counts of Habsburg . The first Habsburg gave the town of Aach city rights in 1283. The city of Aach was one of the Upper Austrian estates. As part of Upper Austria , it was later often pledged. In 1543 the rule of Aach was incorporated into the Landgraviate of Nellenburg . In 1805/06 the city of Aach came to Württemberg as part of the Stockach-Nellenburg Oberamt and to the Grand Duchy of Baden as part of an area swap in 1810 .
