Small companies, predominantly in the steel and shipbuilding industries, came along that were in difficulties and needed help. The turnaround opened up further opportunities for company takeovers or investment in the maritime sector. Many companies, such as B. RSW Roßlauer Schiffswerft , which was taken over by the Heinrich Rönner Group in eastern Germany, had financial problems or was already insolvent. They were successfully renovated and integrated into the group. Today these companies generate their own investments again.
Some of the structures that have emerged in the group of companies shape the image of the seaside city of Bremerhaven . The 2013 corporate award was awarded to the Rönner Group by BIS (Bremerhaven Society for Investment Promotion and Urban Development) and Weser-Elbe-Sparkasse and presented at an official ceremony.
The Weser Kurier described the Rönner family and their business partner, the Petram family , as people "who have been shaping the shipyard scene in Bremerhaven for years".
In July 2019 it became public that the Rönner Group is acquiring the entire shipbuilding activities of the Petram Group in Bremerhaven ( Bredo and German Dry Docks ).
