German Dry Docks (GDD) is a shipbuilding company in Bremerhaven .
history
German Dry Docks was created as a shipyard association of Rickmers-Lloyd -Dockbetrieb and the Ship Technology division of MWB Motorenwerke Bremerhaven .
The shipyard association was formed in early 2013 with around 100 employees. This included four own floating docks. In addition, a cooperation was entered into with the Lloyd shipyard , so that two further large docks , a dry dock and a floating dock, are available. German total dry docks can in Bremerhavener Kaiserhafen so that six dock with up to 38 meters wide and a maximum of 335 meters in length and up to 11.5 meters Draft along the keel Pallen feature.
From summer 2016, operations under the label Docking, Repair, Retrofit under the umbrella of the newly founded German Dry Docks AG . This emerged from the merger of the previous German Dry Docks GmbH & Co. KG with MWB Motorenwerke Bremerhaven AG . Nadine Petram took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board of the new AG.
The close cooperation with Bredo in Bremerhaven and the Mützelfeldtwerft in Cuxhaven was further developed, and on January 1, 2018 these were merged within the shipyard alliance German Dry Docks Group . Bredo took over the operational dock business of the German Dry Docks . On June 1, 2018, the majority of employees switched from German Dry Docks AG to Bredo, which now operates under the name BREDO Dry Docks . The previous German Dry Docks has since concentrated as a project company on special and large projects. The group of companies also includes the independent company MWB Marine Services , which together with Zeppelin Power Systems GmbH & Co KG (ZPS) acts as a specialist in propulsion systems.
In July 2019 Petram sold all of its shipbuilding activities in Bremerhaven (Bredo and German Dry Docks) to the Heinrich Rönner Group .
