Herschel McCoy
Herschel McCoy (born August 6, 1912 - February 3, 1956 in Los Angeles ) was an American costume designer .
Life
McCoy initially worked as a costume designer for various B-movies , including films from the Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto series , until he started working on major productions for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1951 . For his work on the monumental film Quo vadis? McCoy was nominated in 1952 for the Academy Award in the category "Best Costume Design - Color". Another nomination followed two years later, this time together with Helen Rose for the costumes for the film You and no other in the category “Best Costume Design - Black and White”. McCoy died unexpectedly in February 1956 at the age of 43.
