Hervé d'Encausse
Hervé d'Encausse (born September 27, 1943 in Hanoi ) is a former French pole vaulter .
In 1963 he won bronze at the Mediterranean Games .
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he came in 15th place, and at the European Athletics Championships in 1966 in Budapest, he won bronze.
In 1968 he finished seventh at the Olympic Games in Mexico City . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he failed to make a valid attempt in the final.
He was French champion four times (1965, 1966, 1968, 1972).
He set a European record twice:
- 5.28 m, September 9, 1967, Manosque
- 5.37 m, June 5, 1968, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés
His son Philippe d'Encausse was also successful as a pole vaulter.
