The Heart Glacier is a glacier on South Georgia . It flows from the area around Mount Paterson in the Salvesen Range to the east coast of the island and flows into Iris Bay .
It was named by participants in the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911–1912) under the direction of Wilhelm Filchner . It is named after Adolph Jacob Hertz [sic!] (1865–1912), board member of the German East-Africa Line .
