True Myth was a Canadian progressive rock band from London , formed in 1977 and disbanded around 1982.
history
The band was formed at Fanshawe College in 1977 by keyboardist Tom Treumuth, who was classically trained at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto . The line-up was supplemented by other music students. These were singer Malcolm McGuigan, guitarists Tony Cook and Bob Stirajs, bassist Steve McKenna and drummer Kirk Devereux. The self-titled album was released in 1979 via Warner Bros. Records . It was the first Canadian to be recorded digitally and the second ever worldwide after Stevie Wonder's Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants . As a producer was Jack Richardson worked. In 1981, the second album followed under the name Telegram . After the 1982 single Give It Up / Thunderchild , the band split up.

The International Encyclopedia of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal compared the music to Saga , but was found to be less aggressive.
