Heart of Mary Church

The Catholic parish church Herz Mariä in Diedorf , a market town in the Swabian district of Augsburg , was built according to plans by the Mindelheim architect Josef Ruf and inaugurated in 1967.

The townscape of Diedorf is characterized by three church towers: On the one hand by the Catholic Herz-Mariä- and the Evangelical Lutheran Imanuel-Church, both of which are located on Lindenstrasse by the Eukitea-Theater. On the other hand, there is the St. Bartholomew Church , which served the Catholic parish as a parish church until 1967.

The Herz-Mariä-Kirche was built from 1965 to 1967 and can be seen from afar, mainly due to its 76 m high church tower. The almost round floor plan is based on the human heart.
