Duchy of Prudnik
The Duchy of Prudnik (also Duchy of Neustadt ; Polish Księstwo prudnickie ; Czech Prudnícké knížectví ) was part of the Kingdom of Bohemia and from 1318 an independent duchy. The place of residence was the city of the same name Prudnik (today in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole ).
history
The Duchy of Prudnik was separated from the Kingdom of Bohemia by Nicholas II in 1318 . He ruled over the duchy until 1337 when he was forced to hand Prudnik over to Bolko II . The duchy returned to the rule of Nicholas in 1361 thanks to his marriage to Juta, the princess of Falkenberg and daughter of Bolko.
1424, after Bolko V., thanks to the resignation of his father and uncle Bernhard to the independent ruler of Prudnik and Klein Glogau and formed the united duchy of Klein Glogau and Prudnik.
