Architecture and history

The single - storey half-timbered house was built between 1817 and 1819 and is the oldest building in the Sudenburg. It is covered with a hip roof . At first it was used as a school and apartment for the sexton of the St. Ambrose Church a little further south-east .

The seven-axis building was designed in the late Baroque style . The half-timbered structure is made of oak, the compartments on the outside are filled with brickwork and inside with clay pegs. The gables were built later in massive construction. There are three windows each to the left and right of the central entrance. This division of the facade is preserved from the construction time of the building. The entrance door is double-leaf. In 1892/93 a roof bay window was installed. Long, low outbuildings were added to the rear of the house in 1896. As recently as the 1980s, there was a double-barreled four-step staircase in front of the entrance that went left and right, but has now been replaced by simple steps.

The residential building is considered a relic of the original development in Sudenburg and is considered to be significant in terms of urban history and urban development.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82061 .
