Hetairideia
Hetairideia ( Greek Ἑταιρίδεια ) was a festival in ancient Greece in honor of Zeus Hetaireios , which was celebrated in Macedonia and in the Thessalonian city of Magnesia .
The Thessalian festival is traced back to Jason in myth . He donated it to Zeus as the protector of comradeship after he had gathered in Magnesia with the other Argonauts . The festival in Macedonia was hosted by the Macedonian kings. Nilsson suspected that the sacrifice made related to the Hetairoi , who played a special role as advisers and bodyguards to the king.
