history

Hewson Consultants was founded by Andrew Hewson in 1984. He became interested in computers while working at the British Museum , where the first home computers were installed. After learning to program them, he wrote a book called "Hints and Tips for the ZX Spectrum". After the book was published, many amateur programmers sent him their programs and games. This gave Hewson the idea to publish the programs. The company Hewson Consultants was founded and sold the programs as a mail order or through advertisements in appropriate specialist magazines.

The Hewson Consultants company was closed in 1991.
