Uridium

Uridium was originally developed for the C64 by Andrew Braybrook and was released in 1986 for the Amstrad CPC , Atari ST , BBC Micro , C64, MS-DOS and ZX Spectrum platforms . There is only one unofficial port for the Oric .

The 15 levels are named after different metals such as zinc , lead or copper and each offer a more or less suitable color and structure for the respective metal. In each level, the player flies with a small space glider from left to right over a flat, elongated enemy space station, avoiding obstacles and destroying swarms of defending ships without being hit by them.

In 1986, the ARD rated the game as follows: "Games of this type are technically perfect, but usually highly controversial."

Uridium 2

This game was released for the Amiga. With a small spaceship, for which there are numerous extra weapons in the game, you race over a huge enemy spaceship, avoiding obstacles and flying from left to right and vice versa at will to destroy its guns and launching fighters. If you have destroyed most of the ship, you have to land on it in order to turn off the reactor in a bonus round or, alternatively, to collect the bonuses around it while avoiding the falling rocks from above. If you get out of the reactor in time, you can skip levels.

The game manages with a standard Amiga 500 , but with more memory and processor power it offers more effects and intelligence of the homing weapons. The game also offers a 2-player mode and a few tracks with very good sound .

Uridium 3 / Hyper Sentinel

The game Hyper Sentinel by Hewson is considered Uridium 3 , a continuation of Uridium.
