Hidde Klaas Schrage

Hidde Klaas Schrage (born February 15, 1883 in Usquert , Eemsmond municipality , † November 24, 1952 in Zurich ) was a Dutch mechanical engineer at AEG in Berlin, Stockholm, Paris and Baden.

He developed the Schrage motor , an alternating current commutator motor , the speed of which could be changed by changing the position of the brushes.

His parents were Hendrik Schrage (* 1853 in Nieuwolda ) and Hilje, geb. Westerdijk (* 1857 in Uithuizen ). In March 1924 he married Anna Elisabeth de Haas (* 1890 in Ophemert). In 1927 their son Hendrik Hidde Schrage was born.
